Northern and Southern Cyprus are two different countries: entry VISA

Please note that Northern Cyprus and Southern Cyprus are two different countries. Accepted students are required to acquire a TRNC transit visa to travel to NORTHERN CYPRUS.

The country code for Northern Cyprus is +90 and other codes do not belong to the North side.- It is mandatory for all students to travel with their original documents (Academic and non-academic documents) and follow all the instructions as stipulated on the Acceptance letter.

They following are sample questions asked by the immigration officials upon arrival at the airport: Why did you select Northern Cyprus as your destination?, What is your university name?, Why did you select it?, What is your department or program and why did you select it?, How many years is your program?, Cyprus is located on which continent?, What is the semester that you are coming to study for (Fall, spring or summer)?, etc.

Please note that while sending the above-mentioned documents, a short video should be attached showing how the student is answering the above questions. An assessment will be conducted to ensure if the student is responding fairly to the questions. Additionally, the immigration officials might ask other questions other than the ones stated above. Therefore inform the students that they will be expected to answer all the questions.

Kindly note also that, apart from the double transit visa to be obtained from the Turkish Embassy in your home country, a 2 months visa is granted upon entry to Northern Cyprus on condition that you were successful in the interview questions. To pass from North to South Cyprus students are required to have an additional VISA. However, students must ensure that they are only in possession of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus VISA.
