The connection between taking risks and success is very strong and interwoven. The story of how people die in the Sahara desert and the Mediterranean sea has been on since centuries ago during the era of slave trade. Nowadays, it’s not the forceful dragging of someone into the deadly mouth of the sea and desert. It is the willingness of people to take the risks and enter the lion’s den with two eyes widely open. The mere fact that someone somewhere said he crossed the desert and sea doesn’t guarantee the presence of the greener pastures he found him/herself.
In these recent trending video, we could see how joyous the travelers were. Taking videos of themselves with jubilation in the middle of the ocean when they’ve not even gotten to their destination. Praising themselves of taking the risks below a fast-moving ship just close to the sea level. One could tell from the looks on their faces that they are very happy traveling to Europe not minding the risks involve. It tells a lot about the countries they left. According to the video, they are Nigerians.
One of them by name Daniel Ngu from Delta state Nigeria spoke after spending about a year in the journey from Delta State to Europe. According to him in the video, he started his journey 15th of August last year (not stating the year clearly).
WHY DID YOU CHOOSE TRAVELING TO EUROPE BY ROAD?
“I have been hearing about this road, from Morocco to Spain, I just wish I can take this road to Europe just to have a better life but it is not easy. I believe on a very good day God is going to do it for me”: Daniel Ngu.
HOW DID YOU START YOUR JOURNEY TO EUROPE BY ROAD?
Asking him how he started his journey to Europe from Nigeria he said he traveled first to Benue Republic then from there he entered Togo. He then spent sometime in Togo struggling and hustling to raise money in order to continue his journey. He later got some money to travel to Ghana then moved to Ivory Coast. He didn’t stop there; he continued his journey to Europe by road by entering Mali where he spent two months in the desert.

He had to work there because he ran out of money. After getting some money he moved to Algeria and spent another one month working before entering Morocco where he is at the moment and at the time of granting this interview.
WHAT IS YOUR EXPERINCE HERE IN MOROCCO AS YOU CONTINUE YOUR JOURNEY TO EUROPE BY ROAD?
‘I’ve been here for the past 5 months now; it has not been easy’. According to Daniel Ngu, they sleep in the forest because they don’t want the authorities to arrest them. Anyone arrested is been deported to a far away distance and they do maltreat blacks a lot: Daniel Ngu. The deportation is actually a step backward from where the person has crossed already and many times some people decided to go back and some die on the way.

TRAVELING TO EUROPE BY ROAD, DOES IT WORTH IT?
The whole idea of traveling by road or by sea is not really a problem as far as the traveler is traveling legally. It is when the whole idea is planned on illegality that’s when troubles and fear of deaths are being invited. The dangerous road one passed by doesn’t assures life the next minutes. When one is stuck like our brother Daniel in the interview, you’ll not be left with many options, death included. More especially when the traveler is a female. Plan well and know where you intend to travel to ahead of time and not by what you hear at the end without finding out what happened along the way.
